August 1st-7th is World Breast Feeding Week, and here at Little Wonderland I was so happy when this beautiful Mum requested these shots during her family portrait session.

I'm a big believer in a fed baby being a happy baby, however you choose to feed, but I'm an advocate for breastfeeding and education and normalisation around making this choice as I feel we need to challenge the stigma attached that stops some mothers from wanting to give it a go. Mothers should not be embarrassed to feed where ever they need to, and shouldn't be shamed for doing so.

I love to shoot breastfeeding images to show the connection, the calm, the ease (although, I have first hand experience of it not always going to plan!) and the naturalness of it all.

When I struggled with breastfeeding I didn't feel comfortable seeking out help, it definitely affected my time as a new Mum mentally, and I want people to know that here in Halton especially there is a world of support via the amazing Family Hubs and Infant Feeding team. It is effortless for some, and a transition and struglle for others, and there is no shame in any of it, whatever your journey.

By producing images like these that will be shared with your children, breastfeeding will be as normal to future generations as having a cup of tea.
