It's their first birthday soon and you find yourself thinking "what can we do to celebrate"?
Maybe you had newborn portraits when they were born, but a whole year has passed by and so much has changed.
Your camera roll is FULL of pictures of snaps of your baby, but are any of them ready to be made in to wall art for your home? Do you print them for albums, to leave your baby something for the future that actually exists? That they can hold in their hands and remember?
The first big milestone
Now they reach their first birthday, wouldn't it be nice to have high quality, professional portraits of baby, and maybe you too? Beautiful, thoughtful, planned portraits that show who they are, right now.
Your friends all suggest a cake smash, which is lovely and fun and full of unique moments, but what if that's not for you? Can you still have first birthday photoshoots?
Yes, yes and yes!
If you just don't like the mess of a cake smash, or if your baby has an allergy that would make you adverse to giving them an entire cake, or even if they are still adjusting to solid foods and not quite ready to shovel food in to their gorgeous little face, a studio portrait session at Little Wonderland Photography, with a little birthday nod, might be just want you need!
Play time
Before your session I'll send you a prep guide and ask you some questions so I can get an idea of colours you like, props your baby may enjoy and how I can style your session to be perfect for who your baby is and your own personal taste.
Bunting, balloons and little bits of personality can be added in, but keeping is crisp, classic and timeless is always a winner too.
Birthday props
You can keep the session classic and timeless, you can choose to incorporate some of my first birthday prop which are bound to get baby playing, interacting, smiling and making all those funny little faces you adore.
You can dress baby neutral and crisp, you can add in pops of colour, you can bring them in a teddy bear onesie if you like! It's all about the moment, the now, and making these images yours!
Get Mum in the picture
And Dad's too! I bet your camera roll is rammed of pics of your baby, with their baby friends, with members of their family, at playgroups, in parks, at celebrations.
But are you in any of them?
Honestly, get in the picture, Take the opportunity. Your baby is going to grow and want to see how it felt to be in your arms.
They won't be picking you apart like you do youself- whatever the reason is that you don't like to get in the picture, they won't see that. All they'll see is love.
And if you do like getting in the picture- brilliant! Let's do it some more!
When to book
Enjoying a studio portrait session with me could not be easier. Just get in touch with dates you have in mind, I'll send you the info you need to book in.
If you want pictures of your baby back with you in time for sharing on their actual birthday I suggest booking in around 2-3weeks before their birthday.
Many parents prefer to have the session as close to their actual birthday as possible- even on the actual day as part of the birthday fun!
Weekend sessions with me book up months in advance, with weekday sessions having much more availability at short notice, so it's always worth getting in touch if you haven't planned ahead.

Where is Little Wonderland Photography?
My cosy studio is in Widnes, Cheshire, just on the outskirts of Warrington, close to Runcorn, Frodsham, St Helens and the wider area's of Cheshire, Liverpool and Manchester.

I pride myself on offering value for money all year round. My sessions are usually priced to include a collection of images/prints so you know what you are getting when you book and their are no high pressure sales techniques...because I am a photographer and not a salesperson!
