Picture perfect
If you've ever looked at my family photography work and thought "there is no way my kids would sit still and look this perfect for a photoshoot" you are not alone! The majority of families that come to me "warn" me that their kids are wild, don't take instruction and drive them up the wall at the best of times- but guess what? That's what young kids do! They are constantly learning, pushing boundaries and growing in to who they will be, And that most definitely doesn't mean sitting still!

My photographs are literally moments of serenity and joy with everyone focused on being together, maybe all looking at the camera, or maybe all looking at someone else, or lost in a fit fg giggles,
Behind the scenes there’s crazy toddlers not staying still, playing games, exploring, asking questions, making a mess of toys, but that’s ok
That’s what they were put here to do and that’s the energy I’m going to lasso in to perfection!
Prompting not posing
I've been photographing families and their new babies since 2013, and the main thing I've learnt is that the more you ask a child to do something the faker and more staged it will look, or worse still, they will refuse and battle you!
So I make it a game. I prompt them in to being where I want them to be, looking where I want, focusing where I want, and I get you to encourage play and silliness and interacting for authentic moments that are gone in a flash, but make wonderful photographs.
Take a break
If they need time to settle in and build trust in me, that's just fine.
If they want to stop to raid your snack supply, let they fuel up!
If they are nervous of holding baby, no problem. I have lots of different ways of posing them together with, or near to baby, with my main focus always being on baby safe and secure.
No worries
I also appreciate it can be a mission getting out of the front door with young siblings and new babies, and you have no idea how they will behave and how settled they'll be when they get here.
That's why my session times are a guide- if you book an hour long session and your new baby needs calming and feeding and nappy changes, that's ok, I'm not strictly watching the clock and I'll only end the session when I'm happy I have enough variety for your gallery.
So there's really no expectations or pressure for any of your children to "perform".

Where is Little Wonderland Photography?
My cosy studio is in Widnes, Cheshire, just on the outskirts of Warrington, close to Runcorn, Frodsham, St Helens and the wider area's of Cheshire, Liverpool and Manchester.
When should I book a newborn photography photoshoot?
It's good to get in touch with me after your second scan, especially if you might need a slot with me at a weekend. We'll have a chat about potential dates and pencil one in. Of course, if baby is late arriving and we need to reschedule you just need to keep me in the loop- I always keep slots open throughout the week as babies will arrive when they are ready!
My baby has already arrived- is it too late to book?
I always have "office days" in my diary which I keep client free, so if your baby has already arrived it's still worth getting in touch for last minute availability.
And if baby is already a few weeks old, don't worry! I work with babies of all ages regularly so there is "no bad age" or "perfect window" of when to bring them to me. I'm adaptable and patient and ready for you when you are.

I have been working as a newborn photographer since 2013, so I have years of experience with young babies and their families and know how to get the best out of your time with me.
I am DBS checked, fully insured and trained in newborn baby safety.

Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! Session balances must be paid for in full on the day of the shoot, but extra products (digitals, wall art and prints) can be paid for in instalments over 3 months if you choose to make extra purchases from your viewing gallery).
