No news is good news...

...but tell that to every photographer's little sidekick...imposter syndrome! It has a sneaky way of creeping in to get the best of us!

No matter how many happy, overjoyed clients I have, when met with silence, human tendency is to tell yourself stories...scary stories! Stories with unbelievable plots and elaborate twists!

The truth is, when I usually send a client gallery over one of two things happens.

The most common? A gushing message!

"Oh my god I LOVE THEM!"

"How am I going to choose??"

"There's too many cute pics!!"

"You've captured our day perfectly! How have you been everywhere all at once??"

Or...

If you are choosing images from your personal online viewing gallery, you log in, and you favourite 95% of them! Because you love them all and future you is going to make the tough choices narrowing them down! Or, make an extra purchase on payday, or set up a payment plan with me because you just can't let them go!

But sometimes, every now and again....silence.

A tumbleweed.

They've been viewed. I can see you've logged in. Repeatedly logged in! But favourites? None. A message of thanks of joy or acknowledgement? Nothing.

And panic sets in!

The photographer fears. The photographer disaster-projects. The photographer decides you're critical of your every expression and you don't like anything about the pictures. The photographer tells themselves stories...scary stories, with unbelievable plots...and the elaborate twist?

You were so excited looking at them and showing them to your family you forgot.

Or it didn't occur to you to even forget.

I mean, I didn't directly ask for feedback did I? You'll leave a review when you can.

Your joy means so so much to me. I put heart and soul in to creating and fine tuning for you. I'm emotionally invested in your images and them being loved!

I do this to, yes, to earn a living and pay my bills, but more than that I just love people, getting to know them, and making them see how gloriously unique and beautiful they and their families are.

I often joke that "I wish I were rich, so I could work"!

I wish I could work for free and create for everyone and honestly, if I didn't have bills to pay myself, you could all just pay me in gratitude!
